Postgraduate residency programs provide comprehensive training to support future leaders of the primary care movement.
Integrated primary care is our best strategy to ensure a healthcare home for all Americans, including special populations. Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), are the healthcare home for more than 27 million people in the U.S., and their primary care providers must be specialists in primary care for vulnerable populations.
Community Health Center, Inc./the Weitzman Institute’s National Nurse Practitioner Residency Training Program was America’s first residency training program for Nurse Practitioners, fostering primary care providers ready to care for patients in safety net settings. Current tracks include Family Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
The Post-doctoral Residency Program at Community Health Center Inc. (CHC) is one of few American Psychological Association- accredited programs in a community health center. CHC offers a top-notch level of training within an integrated care setting that is pivotal for any clinician due to its breadth and diversity of experiences.
